Solomon Telingater: Art of Type
Editors: Rustam Gabbasov, Vladimir Telingater, Eugene Yukechev. Research: Dmitry Fomin
The first cool-headed monograph («Соломон Телингатер. Искусство шрифта») on Solomon Telingater, one of the prolific figures of the Russian Avant-Garde and a noted Soviet graphic artist. A student of VKhUTEMAS, comrade of El Lissitzky and a ‘Russian friend’ of Jan Tschichold, Telingater was active as a typographer, book designer, letterer, calligrapher and theorist of type design. His work is presented across four periods: from the roaring 1920s to the optimistic 1960s. The book includes 200 illustrations, many of which are being published for the first time.
